THE BOSS
UPNG Biology graduate and post-graduate Diploma Environmental Studies. Lena gained experience assisting with Outreach & intensive MEEP activities 2019 and was appointed Education Officer 15 Sept 2019. Being mentored as a trainer and classroom presenter by Program Director from September 2019. Trained and qualified as Open Water Scuba Diver September 2019. Lena has strong administration skills and has assumed responsibility for preparing Activity Reports for grant sponsors.

Bruce was first appointed in 2013 and has provided on-going, short-term support for MND in preparing accounts for audit and mentoring personnel. Bruce’s last support visit was Nov. 2018. A popular and much appreciated volunteer who does not mind getting his hands dirty assisting with MDEEP activities such as mangrove planting events.

Appointed May 2017. Highly qualified and experienced senior manager and educator-trainer, (BA, Grad. Dip Educ., Senior Assoc ANZIIF, Dip. Business Management, Grad Dip TESOL, Certificate in Mediation-Counselling). Peter has long-term experience in the Pacific region. A non-active NAUI dive instructor with extensive dive experience and a long-term association with nearby Walindi Resort.

UPNG Marine Science graduate with experience working at a major aquatic sports centre in Port Moresby. Unexpectedly assumed MND Finance & Administration Manager role in July 2018.
No prior financial management experience so considered by Program Director to be “perfect” for the FAM role. Mentored by VSA NZ volunteer accountant Mr Bruce MacPherson Nov. 2018. Gave birth to beautiful baby boy Virgil in June 2019.

THE BOSS
UPNG Marine Science graduate. Oversaw implementation of MND MEEP programs 2018-2019. Somei is an effective and popular classroom presenter under mentor the Program Director from May 2017 and on-going. Trained and qualified as Divemaster 2019. In late 2017 commenced an on-going coastal mangrove rehabilitation project which has become an integral part of MEEP activities resulting so far in over 3,000 plantings by local students.
